"Cycle of Life" - A Course in Core Integration
A series of five weekends in "Core Integration" is held once a year.
The Course is modelled on the "Cycle of Life" with its five 'Phases of Being' as envisaged by the ancient Chinese. These phases of transformation are known as Metal, Water, Wood, Fire and Earth and represent the movement of life on all levels - cosmic, natural, and human. Each phase represents specific dynamics, qualities, principals, and transformations of pulsation, energy, and consciousness.
The first weekend focuses on the Metal Phase which resonates with and represents the basic raw physical vitality and body energy.
The second weekend focuses on the Water Phase.
The third weekend focuses on the Wood Phase which represents boundaries.
The fourth weekend focuses on the Fire Phase which resonates with connection.
The fifth weekend focuses on the Earth Phase which resonates with and represents the principles of earth, ground, solidity, and the body as flesh; the qualities of mother, nurturing, nourishment, and holding, the 'oral' Reichian character structure; and the spiritual attribute of empathy. Our aim will be, by exploring these, to address and work towards a resolution of issues related to them. These include mothering, giving and receiving, needs and dependency, being embodied and grounded and being there for others.
