General
In Core Energetics the work is structured so that we can:
a) Lay down our Mask
b) Expose the Lower Self
c) Step into our Core
The Mask is a distillation of our defenses, which hinders our connection with our inner truth, who we really are. The Lower Self is all the suppressed negative feelings, images and intentions that we hide behind the Mask.
Thus through the dynamic of owning and expression of the energetic and emotional charge, we can first acknowledge and take responsibility for this part of us. Only then can we freely experience our authentic reality or Core.
The intention is to spontaneously and genuinely reach a certain point, and find that without pretences, inhibitions or distortions, one can begin to experience the inner joy and love that comes from our Core center.
The actual practice usually has several components to it:
- Postures and Exercises
- Breathwork
- Role Play
- Releasing
- Holding
- Connection
- Integration
