Touch is also an instrument for healing, therapy, treatment, remedy. Most importantly it is the medium for sharing love, affection, nourishment, nurturing and heart-felt feelings. Intimacy is the outcome of connection and touch plays a crucial role in this on all levels of being. The attitude that touch is solely about sexuality limits us in a most insidious way. The world is in risk of losing the joy and significance of touch and intimate contact. This distorted idea in our contemporary western culture is symptomatic of how removed we are from the essential reality of love and intimacy. What in fact they are about is the capacity to feel, sense, know and bond with each other from the depths of our being, from our Core. Once we realise it is a primary way to convey our heart and express our soul, then we will be liberated to be natural with our feelings and love. We are constantly obsessing about what touch may imply simply because we keep our Coeur/Heart/Core closed down. So dare to be like children, spontaneous and without any hidden agendas. Allow yourself to hug, cuddle and hold others without fear but instead with the simple delight and joy of contact.
